It is time.
“The time has come,” the Walrus said, “To talk of many things: Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax—Of cabbages—and kings—And why the sea is boiling hot—And whether pigs have wings.” AND of packaging events!!
The time has finally arrived. On May 25, following our fellowship dinner, we will hold our Stop Hunger Nowpackaging event at
Senoia UMC. We will share in a meal and them prepare meals — 10,000 meals to be exact. What a celebration this will be.
Since Ash Wednesday, we have talked, prayed, and thought about those that suffer due to hunger related issues. We have saved our quarters and dollar. We have talked with folks near and far. We have celebrated each and every gift and donation. And now, we act.
If you are in the area, I want to invite you to join us for this event. If you want to eat with us, make a reservation on our church website. If you choose not to eat but want to help, come down at 7:00 pm and join the fun.
We are still needing about $2,500 for the East Coweta Middle School packaging event. We are trying to host this event for the 6th Grade Students on the last day of School on May 27. Our goal is for them to package 20,000 meals in 2 shifts. If you can help, mail your gift to Stop Hunger Now, ECMS Event, c/o Senoia UMC, P.O. Box 98, Senoia, GA 30276. Every gift helps.
We are changing the world together. For those that argue that charity begins as home, Senoia UMC along with the Optimist Club
of Senoia provided 1,060+ sandwiches, 8 loaves of bread, 4 large jars of Peanut Butter, about 3 bushels of fresh fruit, a large box of grapes, and other items to those that were effected by the recent tornadoes in Manchester. We also raised over $3,300 in donations through UMCOR (100% goes to help). What a blessing to be able to help!
What will you choose to do to change the world where you are?
Until the next time….The Hog Father,
